Long list so here we go!
First up a very rare Battery powered radio. Colin B Kennedy model
XV type 430 - 30
model XV (15) Type 430 - 30, Kennedy Co., Colin B.; San Francisco
& St.Louis:
Asking price is $1000.oo
This is a working radio. I won't say it works well but for a
1925/1926 radio it does work.
Hooked to 100 feet or wire in my attic and a good ground
connected. I listened to AM-740 from Toronto for a while. And yes
it was one of their
late evenings and they were running a Fibber McGee and Molly
episode. It was a better wearing the set of headphones than it was
from my Majestic wooden horn speaker. Later I tuned in a couple of
our local Fort Wayne Indiana stations. 1190 WOWO and 1380 WKJG.
The next day I tuned it to
1450 WLYV our local Oldies station. So yes the tuners will
tune to 1500
The left tuning knob has a bit of slop in the coupling so
adjustment of that one is a bit touchy. The Filament Reostat lower
left only works at full ON so I only set the filament
voltage by setting it on the ARBE 3 battery power supply that I
have to 6 volts. So that part needs to be repaired or replaced.
There are a couple capacitors in the
radio that should I think also be replaced and perhaps then it
would play better. Lots of original documentation with this radio.
Original Instruction book all 16 pages on how to operate the
radio.
Bill from local Wayne Radio Company in Fort Wayne dated August
1924 for a 48 volt Willard B battery some wire and a B battery
Charger.
I guess he didn't want to have to keep buying B batteries.
Buyer was Mr L B Masbaum 3126 East St Fort Wayne Indiana
Later we know that L B Masbaum moved to Leroy St Fort Wayne and #2
owner was
Robert J Masbaum 2914 Kenwood AV. That is about 10 blocks from his
Fathers Home.
#3 owner is a lady and her husband who live on the 3000 block of
Vance Av Fort Wayne Indiana
That is less than two blocks from Robert's house. So this is a
very Low Mileage Radio. From original sale
until now it moved less than 1 mile from owner to owner.
I am selling the radio for them.
Hang Tag for the radio is original.
So lots of excellent documentation along with this very rare
complete working a little bit Kennedy radio.
Notice that one of the later radios also has stamped name inside R
J Masbaum.
Documentation with the Kennedy XV
Now onto the lesser radios.
#1 Home Brew or Kit Three Tube Battery radio $25
Finally a RADIO. A Silvertone Lunchbox portable. Condition mostly
clean inside but the outside needs work.
Silvertone model 7165 Ch 101.823-1 $20
Heathkit SG-8 Signal Generator Needs work $10
RCA RadioMarine RDF portable receiver with rotary antenna. It does
not work needs recap $40
