For a NEW IN THE BOX Commander HF-2500
This Amplifier was purchased sometime in the mid 90's and NEVER
taken out of the box.
Serial number on the amp is 0475
Unpacking the NEW IN BOX Amp

First things first Install a plug onto the end of the power cord.

Next hook it up and start it up Yes voltage is correct. Yes the
amp has in it a brand new pair of Eimac 3CX800A7 tubes.
and Check Idle current yes all correct
Next in the start up instructions it says drive the amp with about
10 watts and adjust tune and load controls Yes the amp is putting
out about 300 watts.
Next we drive the amp with 70 watts. My Nye Viking wattmeter says
over about 2500 watts
So lets see what it does with 100 watts of drive
Yes that is 3500 watts on the meter. All testing was done running
dots at 50wpm from my Elecraft K3 radio. Eimac LOVES people who
put a BRICK on the key and tune up their Amps.
And why is that? Because brick on the key allows Eimac to sell
more tubes.
Below is the chart that comes with this Commander Amp showing band
by band setting for two drive levels for grid current plate
current tune and load settings
at 1000 watts out and 1500 watts out. Those are into a 50 ohm
dummy load numbers. On the back of the amp you will find
screwdriver adjustments for the Tuned Input to the Amp.
As it sets now it is still the factory settings which were derived
using again 50 ohms from Command Technology's setup lab. I did not
readjust them for the above tests.

I have more items to go in this estate so please check back in a
few days. Rotors Lots of parts and some small items.
John k9uwa
OK lots more pictures of the contents of my trailer
6 meter Halo
ROTORS I have three of them for sale. All three have been checked
out and yes they work.
First on the left is a Wilson WR-500 rotor and control box. Asking
$250 and that includes the cable shown with the plugs on it.
The middle one is either Ham II Ham III or Ham IV CDE
SOLD rotor
and the one on the right is a CDE Rotor model CD-44 notice NO
BRAKE on the bottom. Each of them will go with one of the
control boxes in the next picture. In one of the pictures below
you will see some 8 wire rotor cable in another box. I am
asking $200 for the CDE Ham 2,3 or 4 whichever it is
includes control box and some rotor cable. And $150 for the
CDE model CD-44 rotor plus control box plus some 8 wire cable.
A few other things in this group of 8 pictures. ... Control boxes
for the older Ham M rotors several of them. Condition of those
unknown. There isn't much to go wrong
with them. $15 each. I think one of those that you twist and
pointer and rotor runs until it reaches that point.. I think that
one is a 4 wire box for some other CDE rotor?? make offer if you
need one of them.
I see another one says AR-22 on top of it in the box with the
rotor cable.
Ameco Pre-Amp in picture #3 below. I haven't checked it out yet
but if it works they are worth probably $30
In picture 4 & 5 below are TWO of the B&W Low Pass Filters
from memory I think they are 1KW filters. $20 each
And next to them I think is a B&W SWR pickup designed to feed
forward and reverse watts to some meter.. $25
The two tall CERAMIC pieces standing up behind the rotors in #5
picture below I think are designed to set Rohn 25G tower on top of
them to insulate the tower from ground? I only found two of them
so if you need
them have a look about and see if you can find another maybe Rohn
still sells them? Or maybe I am wrong in what they are?
IN the box next to the old Ham M controllers... on top what
appears to be probably an 80m dipole including center ceramic and
end ceramics.
In picture #5 below I also see a new still in the package Balun.
$25 or make an offer.
In picture 8 below is an interesting device an Electro Voice
Speech Clipper $40 or make offer

80M dipole plus see below...
In this box with the 80m dipole all in bubble wrap are TEN New
Computer Grade Electrolytic Capacitors
Mallory 910 Mfd 400VDC someone intended to build perhaps some
super amp power supply?
I see the surplus guys want quite a bit for these capacitors and
or similar to them. Make an Offer 10 of these would make a super
filter 4000 volts at 90 mfd
should work well in your next Amp Power supply. How about $100
takes all 10 of them?
Tubes 6JB6 tubes. Used ones. No I haven't tested them yet
but I can if someone wants some of them. I found more in
another
box in the trailer. And Yes Jule Owned a Drake
TR3/ TR4 at one time.
Other tubes below make offer. I have probably
10,000 tubes on my shelves. TUBES
SOLD
Interesting box of hardware. Those alum block pieces pretty sure
are from a Mosley Yagi antenna Make offer
Yes more 6JB6 and OTHER tubes in bags with prices attached to
them. My guess is Jule had tested them and intended to do a
Hamfest
to sell them.
TUBES SOLD
MOBILE Antenna parts.
20M stinger used.
Hustler stingers for 18 and 24 mhz I think was what it said on the
packages... these are new in the packaging Make Offer
The fiberglass tube you see behind these is some sort of antenna.
There are several pieces of the same material
but this one has toroid cores and RF connector on it. Make Offer
Nice Alpha Delta multi position antenna switch. For only $109.95
plus shipping you can have one
from DX-Engineering.... or for $50 you can have this one.
SOLD
Seriously they are good switched.
I have 8 of the 2 position version here in the shack. Used to move
a given band of antennas
to either the right or the left of two stations here in the
shack... or straight UP for ground it all. Never blew a pill in
one of them yet
and I have tried.
Looks like a bit less than 1/2 of a 1000 foot roll of RG-6 coax.
make offer. Way back up about 100 pictures above I do have nearly
a complete 500 foot roll of
Cable Experts RG213. My price is cheaper than their price.
Power cord for some type of radio. 3 wires with pigtail wires on
the other end and an inline fuse. Not sure what it fits.
Some plugs some ceramic standoffs and a few tube sockets and
hardware
2 boxes of Meters make offer
I get to keep the globe tube
This is one INTERESTING Home Brew Rotor Controller Built in a
Drake Cabinet and even painted to match
the Drake C line radios. It weighs about 15 pounds I think. That
is a LOT of transformer inside this box.
Two types of plugs on the rear apron Octal Tube socket and 6 pin
Cinch Jones jack.
This may well be a power supply to operate a Prop Pitch Rotor.
From looking at the info on
the top of the transformer and how it is wired. Dual 120V
primaries are wired in parallel
and the output is wired for 12V so whatever roto it was designed
to operate was a 12V one. So not a prop pitch I think.
It says 750 KVA on the label for the transformer.
Make Offer
Some type of coaxial relay box 4 out and 1 in from what I see in
the wiring. Make Offer.

Not a clue on this one some home brew box with some switching and
LED's

Power cord probably for two radios in a mobile setup? Or for sure
12v powered radios. Make offer
Coax fittings and other hardware
Anothe power cord 4 pin cinch jones to 12V pigtail nice heavy
wire. Make Offer
Ceramics of various types in this box
Peltor 7004 Headset Label says ... Brand New. Well I see them used
in a couple places for 70 and 95 for a pair of them. How about $40
for this New Pair

about 1/3rd of a roll of 2 conductor #18 plus shield Make
Offer
Thats it for now. More Later Check back again.
